Alexandra, of The Phillipses, had a wedding day that vintage-lovers dream of! Her special day was built around a vintage library theme and consisted of darling book decor, typewriters, and the perfect vintage dress. We love how they whole event came together and are swooning over all of her adorable photographs! Scroll down to see and read more about her wonderful day.
I met my husband when we both worked at a video game store. It was the sweetest (and nerdiest!) thing, with neither of us daring to say anything for over a year! Eventually though, we got together and have been inseparable ever since. He proposed two years later at the bookstore I worked at, unknowingly giving me the perfect inspiration for wedding planning.
Our wedding was firmly rooted in the past with a touch of library inspiration. It began with our venue in Ormond Beach, Florida: The Casements. It was originally the winter home of John D. Rockefeller, built in the early 1900s, and I'd visited throughout my childhood for community events. It was the perfect spot for our vintage affair. Working in a library now, it seemed natural to me to include books and other library paraphernalia in our decorations--the centerpieces, placecards, favors, my bouquet (my mother made it!), and even our cake! It was all a labor of love, put together by our friends and family.
Choosing my dress was one of the simplest parts of planning. Soon after getting engaged, I'd gone to an appointment at a bridal store, but nothing really spoke to me. Though the consultant brought me many different styles to try on, nothing seemed to be "me". Soon after, Ruche released their new bridal collection, and I was sold! I ordered the Nadine dress, and it arrived with a perfect fit. It was meant to be.
