Treasures can be found (or made) from the most unexpected places! We're always trying to find fresh ideas to revamp our once-loved items and Jessica of The Steele Maiden shared with us the most darling DIY to spruce up our homes. By taking ordinary desk drawers, old book pages, and a little creativity, she whipped up this unique vintage-inspired decor! Scroll down to find out how. ♥

I was looking for a way to add a big statement to the gallery wall in my living room on a tight budget.  When I came across these old desk drawers left out on the street, I immediately knew they'd be the perfect addition. They're now the happy home to a few small succulents and favorite travel postcards, and my gallery wall is complete!

  • wow, this is so freaking awesome. Very simple, but really cool. I definitely need to try this. Will have to go on a hunt on my next fleamarket trip for some old desk drawers!

  • This is a beautiful and amazing idea... but was tearing out pages from a Plath book necessary?! She's a genius! Her words deserve to stay in the hallmark of your book shelf! Still though, great idea. I am looking forward to do this project in my own home!

  • I think just the opposite! Nobody will ever see Plath's work on a shelf, trapped between those covers. Although I'm not sure she would have approved of her mother publishing her letters home, I think she would have been delighted with this display. I love what Jessica Steele has done here.
