We love a day in the summer sun- whether it's on a sandy beach or a local park filled with greenery, the sunshine beckons us to spend time in the beautiful outdoors. While we love soaking up some sun rays, it's important to stay hydrated and protect your skin with sunblock or a cute hat. Instead of a traditional bottle of water, we have been experimenting with fruit infused water for both hydration, nutrients, and a refreshing fruity flavor! Fruit infused waters are both delicious and simple- just add your ingredients to your water container (we love Mason Bar Company containers!) the night before and let it sit refrigerated overnight. In the morning you'll have a delightful summer drink! Here are some of our favorite recipes for flavorful water.
1. Strawberry, Lime, Cucumber, and Mint: This classic combination is guaranteed to be a summer bbq favorite! The combination of flavors has a subtle, yet distinct taste that will always remind us of summer. Plus, how pretty does the combination of green hues look with the strawberries?
2. Strawberry and Basil: Adding strawberry and basil to your water is a great way to add a summery pop to your water. The flavorful basil is balanced by the sweetness of the strawberry, and we love how both look garnished on your glass of choice. This infused water would be delicious with a light pasta salad or on its own during a day on the shore.
3. Blueberry, Lemon, and Mint: This combination of flavors not only looks gorgeous when added to your water, but is a simple and easy way to add a invigorating and refreshing touch to your water. We love how this water has a light sweetness with a hint of minty freshness!
4. Citrus Cilantro: Pairing citrus and cilantro works wonderfully when infused with water! The citrus flavor of the orange slices brings out the unique flavor of the cilantro that would be ideal for a spring picnic. This beverage is the perfect way to amplify your traditional glass of water without adding an abundance of sugar or artificial flavoring.
Because you can infuse water with fruits, herbs, and spices the possibilities are endless! We can't wait to continue to explore a variety of flavor combinations and see which ones we like best. Do you have a favorite recipe for naturally flavoring water? Let us know!
