  • While the boyfriend [or as I lovely refer to him, the nerdlove] and I are not engaged [yet!], in the 4 years we've been together we have been through so much that we barely have any decent pictures of us together! From supporting each other through college and my Cystic Fibrosis related surgeries + hospital stays, when we are actually doing something fun we tend to forget to take pictures. I would love to win a shoot with Lovisa Photo, not only because I would like some photos of us together, but because their style and aesthetic is gorgeous!

  • Matt and I are keeping our wedding budget tight tight tight so we can save money to make a down payment on a home. Thrifting, flea markets, and DIY is our plan, but for big purchases like venues and photographers, we have to get really creative. Winning an engagement photo session would be a dream come true--especially from such an adorable pair like Lovisa Photo! Thank you for the opportunity!

  • James and I have been dating for almost 6 years. We have been working hard to save money for a wedding and this chance would mean a great deal to us. We both work and have recently started working (for free) for a youth group in a nearby community. After all the giving we do, it would be great to get something back. We appreciate the chance. Thanks!

  • Many college sweet-hearts are young and in-love, Kyler and I are young and in-debt. We are both looking forward to a wedding full of thrifty buys and DIY projects, but there's some things you just can't do for yourself, like an engagement shoot! We have the tiniest budget, but we have faith that things will all fall into place. My older sister just recently got married last May, and I can see the worry in my parents eyes as they begin to prepare for my wedding. Winning this engagement shoot would be such a blessing to not only Kyler and I, but to my family as well. Love is a photo, and I would be overjoyed if Lovisa Photo would capture that for Kyler and I. Thank you so much for this opportunity :) I'm sure it will be difficult to choose a winner from all the deserving couples, so good luck! haha

  • In our future planning, this would be a great help to our wedding budget. Orange County is my heart and is my home, I would love to have photos done there. My boyfriend and I have been together for over 5 yrs and with this economy, we've been through a lot, finance wise. Winning this contest would be a dream come true and a big help towards planning the rest of our wedding. Thank you for this opportunity hopefully we'll get to meet the great team behind all of this! :)

  • We got engaged in December and the wedding is planned for September. With a tight budget and a very long guestlist, creativity is the name of the plan. I am finishing my masters and we haven't had any time to get photos taken. We were planning not to, and just save the photos for the wedding, but being able to have some casual photos would be great!!

  • I'm actually entering this contest for my twin sister and her boyfriend. They want to get married next year but don't have enough money for a ring or wedding yet so they're waiting til then to save some money. They have never had professional photos taken so to win this session for engagement pictures would be amazing. Winning this could really help financially and by the look of the photographer's pictures they could have gorgeous engagement and wedding announcement pictures. Thank you for the opportunity and I hope we get chosen(:

  • What an amazing opportunity! Sounds like whoever wins will be truly blessed. Not only would it be a financial help but loveisaphoto has such talent and having the pictures done by them would absolutely be something to treasure. Thanks!

  • My fiance and I are newly engaged as of the first of this month. Like everyone else out there, we are also planning a wedding on a tight budget. I have been searching for a great photographer at a reasonable cost since the day after he proposed. You might think, "well slow down! You're barely engaged!". But we do not have a year to plan this wedding because he is an active duty Marine officer that is being deployed very soon, on June first to be exact (which happens to be my birthday). He is to return from his deployment in December of this year, which is when we are planning the wedding for because he has a high likelihood of being deployed AGAIN right after he gets back. Being that we do not want to wait until 2014 to get married, December 2012 is the only time he will for sure be home so we can get married. So we need engagement photos ASAP! :) I would love to have the opportunity to have engagement photos taken by Lovisa. Their work is absolutely amazingly beautiful. They are the team I would hire if I was not working on a budget!

  • We'll like to challenge you in your photography abilities with the animals we have around the farm that will make excellent engagement pictures. We'll like to win to see your creative photos for our engagement photos. For us to win will be a plus for artistic photos for our engagement. If we win we will be excited to have that opportunity to look through the pictures through the upcoming future.

  • My wife and I (we got married last year) didn't get the photos we wanted for our wedding. While they were nice, we were envisioning something else...a little more pizzaz, sparkle, emotion.

I know this is for engagement photos, but perhaps we could be considered for the contest.

    Posted on April 11, 2012

  • We've just started planning...our heads are about to explode with all the choices we have to make for the wedding because, like everyone else on here, we're trying to plan a momentous occasion on a tight budget. It would be nice to have one decision made. Plus, you do gorgeous work, and we'd be thrilled to win a photo session with you.

  • We would like to win because we have been having some unfortunate events occuring and the only thing that made everything seem so much better was when Jay asked me to marry him the day before my birthday which was only last week. Winning this will add to the pile of our currently rare fortunate events.

  • I would be so honored to win an amazing shoot from Lovisa Photo! I love their work, and Erin and Dan are great people. My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 4 years now, and he has been working so hard saving up money for my engagement ring! This would be a great way to get our engagement photos done without us having to work overtime to afford a shoot, since I go to school full-time and work part-time, so he's the main moneymaker and has given up so much for me. I'm also working on losing the weight I've put on since we started dating, and this shoot would give me something to work out hard for, and debut the results! Thank you for holding this great contest, and good luck to everyone!

  • I would love to win this contest. I fell in love with my best friend two years ago when I met him and it has been a beautiful story up to this point and we are planning a wedding in September.

I have been through over 30 surgeries and I am 23. I have made extensive work done to my face, as I had a surgery at 3 weeks of age to keep me alive as there were problems with my brain and heart.

My boyfriend has looked past all of my challenges on my face and loves me for what matters most, what is beneath the surface.

I would love to win this package for our wedding to have a beautiful set of photos to share with my family and boyfriend.

    Love your work.
    Carlee.

  • Michael (a New Zealander) and I (an American) met a mutual friend's party one night in Wellington, New Zealand. I was in NZ studying and knew less than a handful of people; so I went to the party in attempt to make more friends. I decided to sit on the couch and start talking to whoever was beside me. Little did I know that I was having my first conversation with my future husband. After a year of dating in NZ, it was time for me to move back to the US. Michael did not want to let me go. So even though he never wanted to move here, he picked up his life and we started a tremendously happy life together in NYC. About a year after that, Michael proposed, and we decided to spend the rest of our lives together.
The reason why I would love a photoshoot from Lovisa Photo is because Michael and I are indescribably happy and in love, so I know I need someone with amazing talent to be able to capture that happiness for us in our picture. We can't afford a professional photogropher, so this prize would mean the world to us!

  • Two dead horses, stolen heirlooms and craigslist sets the stage; a jewish mother found her son a nice german girl and at first sight they fall in love. The cliff notes version of Swea and I finding each other sounds like some avant-garde student film but I assure you its real deal.

My mother and step father both ride horses. During 2009 they lost not one, but both of their horses to colic within 6 months of each other. This is a rare occurrence on its own, let alone for both horses to be struck by the same condition within such a small window. Needless to say, my parents were devastated. My family also runs a nonprofit for children with autism and the horses were a crucial part of the therapy program. So my mother took to craigslist posting in the farm and garden section looking for two horses for the organization.

On to my better half. My lovely Swea is an amazing horse trainer. With the support of her wonderful parents she came to the United States to pursue her passion and bring a little bit of European sophistication to the rest of us cowboys. She also brought family jewelry that had been passed down for generations. One morning while Swea was whispering to horses someone broke into her home and stole her family heirlooms. As a student visa holder, the police were less then supportive. Swea was left to her own devices, so logic dictated that Craigslist would be a good place to start looking...

If you take a look at Craigslist you'll notice that "Jewelry" is just to the left of "Farm and Garden". A misplaced curser brought Swea into the wrong section. There, at the top of the Farm and Garden section was the most recent post, made by my mother. Low and behold, Swea just happened to have two horses she needed to find homes for, the owner stressing the condition that they must both go to a good home.

It took only a phone call. Swea and my mom hit it off and next thing you know, the horses are being dropped off. The following day Swea receives a phone call from my mom. Panicked that something may be wrong with the horses, Swea picks up the phone. My mother had something else in mind. "I know this is unprofessional, but are you single? I have a son.".

I imagine it was likely immediately after getting off the phone with Swea that my mother called me. "I found the perfect girl for you." She said. "But even if you don't like her like her, she can be a good friend". Ah, the insurance clause. I should point out here that though my mother's behavior could easily have her substitute as the matchmaker in Fiddler on the Roof, I maintain that I by no means sought this out, but what kind of son would I be not to entertain my mother's efforts?

A bbq was arranged a few weeks later on a Sunday. Scheduled attendance included a variety of horse people, the former owners of the new horses, Swea and myself. Luck have it, mom throws her back out. The party's cancelled. Everyone is notified... except me and Swea.

Swea was suppose to stop by for 15 minutes. We ended up talking for hours and hours late into the night. Mom went to bed with a smile. That following thursday was our first date. After dinner and two movies, we sat in the car and talked until 6 in the morning. We started a list of all the things we would do together before we even shared our first kiss. It was only a few months after that night that we added get married to each other to the list.

Prior to meeting Swea, love seemed defined by compatibility. My problem is that I was trying to understand love on my own when I could only experience it with her.

I believe life is a process in which its worth is measured by both its joys and tragedies. Each gives the other value. In what is now our shared life, we are able to reflect on several tragedies and be thankful that they occurred. (and of course we both give thanks to mom's persistence).

It is for this reason that we hope to win the photo shoot. We find ourselves in one of the happiest moments we could ever imagine, and one of the first of hopefully many to share together. Life will deliver challenges, but it is moments like now that we live for. To have photos taken of this special time would be an incredible reminder for us of what life is all about, finding happiness.

  • First off, how amazing that Ruche and LOVISA PHOTO have partnered together for this great opportunity! The aesthetic of the two companies as well as the passion that see so visible in their statements and merchandises make it all the more a better contest to try and win! Companies filled with such "feel-good" type people. Exciting! With that said.. onto me/us. :)

Eric and I have been dating for 7 years. Yes, SEVEN years.. Just in case you missed it the first time. :) We are high school sweethearts who have just grown, over time, to love each other, including ALL the flaws that we bring to the table. For having grown up in the LA/OC areas, to have us being ourselves and it being so naturally caught on "film" would be beyond amazing.

Would love to win the package to be able to build a new memory together, while laughing and reminiscing the memories of the past that have brought us to where we are. Being the Ruche girl I am, and such an admirer of the art that Erin and Daniel create, can't wait to see the outcome of this contest, whether for me or someone else!
