Thomas and I both grew up in towns that were near each other. Although we had never met, our grandparents had been friends for years. The first time I met his grandma, she told me "You need to met grandson" and my grandma did the same thing to Thomas when he was with them. We were like ships in the night and just had never ran across each other even though he had met nearly everyone in my family before me. He had even gone on a fishing trip with my grandpa and I went to see a Broadway play with his grandma!

Fast forward a few years and Thomas and I are attending the same college, University of the Pacific, but still have yet to meet each other. We both knew the other went to UOP, but never bothered to go out of our way to meet each other. My sophomore year and Thomas's junior year is when we first met. Our best friends started dating and were meeting up for lunch. I thought I would tag along with my girlfriend, not knowing that Thomas would be there. When we all met up for pizza, Thomas and I soon realized who each other were. We both said "Oh! I know who you are, I know your grandma!" and exchanged numbers not really thinking anything of it.

Thomas started texting me, which led to a few phone calls which led to a first date. From then on, we never went a day without talking. Thomas was the sweetest, kindest, most intelligent man I had ever met! On our second date, he made me dinner. He even made the pesto for the pasta from scratch! We both instantly connected on such a deeper level than ever before. We were best friends and spent as much time together as our schedules allowed us.

I knew things were getting more serious as I headed into my senior year and Thomas started his MBA. A couple months into the school year, Thomas proposed. He was so excited to finally be able to say the words and give me the ring he had been planning and designing for months. It was one of the best days of our lives (beside from our wedding day!) Now we have been married for almost two months and couldn't be happier. Our grandparents knew from the beginning and we knew from the moment we met- we both are so lucky to have found each other.
