Today’s love story comes to us from Kirsten Grove of interior design blog Simply Grove. Started in 2008 as a way to showcase eye-catching design and decor from all over the world, Simply Grove has become a hangout for like-minded creatives with a love of interiors and an appetite for design eye-candy. You will also find Kirsten featured in publications and sites like Better Homes and Gardens, Lucky Magazine, Real Living Magazine, HGTV.com and Design Sponge (just to name a few!). In addition, she was named one of Babble’s Top 50 Design Mom Bloggers of 2011 and has been a speaker at Alt Summit 2011, 2012 and 2013. Read on for her sweet thoughts on being a parent!
This Valentines I plan on celebrating the lives of 3 very special people to me. My husband, my son and my daughter. My husband, whom I've been married to for 13 years, and I adopted both of our children when they were newborns. My son came first and then 13 months later my daughter was born and brought into our lives. Both of my children have amazing stories and both will someday change the world, I have no doubt. When Eden Jo, my daughter, grew into her toddler years, we started noticing similarities between her and I. She started growing tall for her age, like me. Her fair skin has a hard time in the sun, like mine. Her long legs make it hard to find long pants, like it is for me. Even her earlobes are identical to mine. Though she is fabulously more creative than me, we are two peas in a pod. She blesses me everyday with her love for people and life. When I think about how proud I am of her (and my son) almost always my eyes fill up with tears. She is my valentine and I couldn't be prouder of her!
