Our launch of Make Waves, a collection of styles easily transitioned from a day on the beach to an afternoon on the boardwalk, has us inspired to spend Father's Day seaside. Of course we love spending time with our fathers and father figures, but Father's Day is a time to do a little something extra that is fun for the both of you! Here are some ideas for spending a day on the coast with Dad.

BBQ: Whether you've set up a seaside bonfire or picnic, or decided to try a new restaurant on the pier, a beachy barbecue is certain to please Dad! After spending some time exploring tidepools or swimming, the perfect way to talk about the day's activities is over a great meal.

Music: Concerts by the beach are common come summertime, so we recommend checking resources for your local beaches and see if there are any upcoming concerts your dad would love.

Ocean Activities: Get active and take to the water! Try stand up paddle boarding or kayaking alongside the beach or cruise around the calm bay. Typically there is an abundance of places on the beach where you can rent a variety of canoes, kayaks, or stand up paddle boards and even if you're a novice you'll learn in no time!

Fishing: Pick up some fishing essentials for Dad and head to your local pier. Even if you don't catch anything, some great conversation paired with the warm sun and ocean breeze will be all you need for an amazing Father's Day. Don't forget a floppy hat!

Bike Rental: To make your Father's Day even more memorable, rent a couple bikes and cruise along the beach. Our favorite part of riding bikes seaside is stopping at little shops and restaurants along the way- you might even discover a new favorite dish or cocktail!

Beer Tasting: We love the amount of local breweries keep popping up! If you're far from wine country and want to spend some time on the beach with your father, we recommend finding a brewery near the coast and spending an afternoon taste testing numerous brews.
