Meet Melina, the charming writer of The Caffeinated Closet and easily one of the cutest girls we know. She recently studied abroad and we must admit, we lived vicariously through her and followed all of her travel posts. She somehow managed to stay fashionable and warm while living out of a suitcase -- check it out here and collect a few tips for yourself! Melina is also no stranger to our Blogger Family; take a look at her Guest Editor posts and see her stylish Ruchette outfits.
She graciously took the time to answer a few of our questions, so read on to learn a little bit more about one of our favorite Ruchettes
What was your favorite part of your time studying abroad?
My favorite part of studying abroad was being able to see so many different countries and cities in such a short amount of time. For a couple months, it felt like I was jetting off to a different country every weekend, which was an amazing experience that I don't know when I'll be able to have again.
Do you have any favorite hobbies?
I love blogging and reading other style blogs for inspiration! I also love to dance, and more recently, I've started taking a kickboxing class which has been really fun!
What accessory could you absolutely not live without?
Watches. Surprisingly enough, I didn't start wearing watches until a couple of years ago. But now, my wrist feels naked without one. Plus, I've got a pretty funny watch tan...so I definitely need to have one on at all times!
Were there any trends in Ireland that you spotted and enjoyed?
I loved that people buttoned their collared shirts all the way up, and layered a statement necklace over. I've definitely been seeing it more now that I'm home, but Ireland and the UK was the first place I noticed the trend.
If you a HAD to give up shopping or coffee for one whole year, which one would you choose to give up?
Oh no—what a terrible question! Honestly, if I had to choose I think I would give up shopping (my wallet would also thank me...). There's something wonderful about having a warm cup of coffee every morning, and I don't know if I could live without it!
What are some everyday essentials you carry in your purse?
Powder, lipstick, lotion, hand sanitizer, gum, band-aids, tissue, headphones, a pen, post it notes...really the list goes on and on :)
What is your favorite part of being a Ruchette?
I like incorporating different trends into my wardrobe, but always keeping my style as classic as possible. I love that Ruche pieces can have trendy elements, but still have that vintage-inpsired look. I love being a Ruchette because well...I love Ruche (and all the people there!) <3
