Downton Abbey has become a popular show among many of the girls in the office.  Everyone has been talking about the beautiful vintage styles on the show, as well as the intriguing storyline.  We are completely in love with the lace and beaded gowns the ladies get to wear for their dinners at home and luxurious garden parties.  If you love the early 20th century, we highly recommend watching this show so you can swoon over the beautiful fashions and breathtaking architecture.

  • I know I would absolutely love this show if I watched it, just for the imagery alone!

  • I love the show buildings clothes.
I hate when 20th century vintage retro inspired fashion starts with the 1920's. The 20th century started before that.

Downton Abbey is not set in the Edwardian Era. That era end in 1910. Altough those eras do overlap each other a bit style wise. Of course Edwardian buildings were still standing. Downton starts in 1912 and will go to the 1920's

  • MelodyJ:
The first season of Downton Abbey is in Edwardian times. The Belle Epoque era ended in 1910. The Victorian period went till around 1905-1906, then there was the Belle Epoque era, a part of the Edwaridan era, with remnants from Victorian, then what is just Edwardian. The Edwardian era ended with the start of World War I.
