For the final installment of Friday Frocktails, Natalie of The Soho blog has mixed up a delicious sage and pear cocktail that may just be our favorite happy hour libation yet! Every week this month Natalie has been using our Frocktober dresses to create a cocktail, taking inspiration from the palette and style of the dress. So we wondered, what would a chic midi-length frock with a classic polka dot pattern in sweet cream and green inspire? And here it is – an irresistible combination of an aromatic herb, the crisp fall sweetness of pear, and the effervescent loveliness of a splash of bubbly!

For my final frocktail this month, I came up with a sage and pear sipper to go along with this darling green dress. The flavors are subtle and earthy and would make a perfect addition to a fall brunch ... as would the dress.

    Ingredients:
    2 1/2 oz. pear juice
    4 sage leaves
    3 oz. Prosecco or Champagne

    Directions:
Add pear juice to a cocktail shaker along with 3 torn sage leaves. Add 1/2 a cup of ice and shake until the outside is frosty. Pour the liquid through a strainer into your glass and top with Prosecco or Champagne, approximately 3 ounces. Garnish with a sage leaf.

Natalie of The Soho blog is back to graciously host Friday Frocktails happy hour here on our blog. Every week Natalie is taking inspiration cues from one of our Frocktober dresses to create a cocktail…or rather, a frocktail! We couldn’t wait to see how our classic, patterned, cream and gold dress would inspire her this week, and she didn’t disappoint. Natalie whipped up yet another delicious drink that combines two of our favorite things, and we couldn’t be happier to share it with you. And now that we’ve seen her recipe, we can’t help but think: how did we not think of doing this sooner?! Read on for a delightfully simple cocktail recipe that is sure to become one of your fall favorites.

The subtle colors of this lovely cream and gold dress gave me the idea for a hard apple cider float. It's the easiest recipe you ever did see. All you need to do is pick up your favorite vanilla ice cream and your favorite hard apple cider. It's like apple pie à la mode in a glass.

    Ingredients:
    3/4 cup vanilla ice cream
8 oz. hard apple cider, chilled
    Dash of cinnamon

    Directions:
Scoop ice cream into a glass and pour hard apple cider over it. Top with a dash of cinnamon, give it a stir and sip with a straw.

Thank you again Natalie for such a stylish drink! Every week we look forward to something new to sip on and we loved this one as much as her previous Frocktails, a gin fizz and sangria, both of which also deserve a spot on your drinks menu. Lastly, be sure to shop our Frocktober calendar for the perfect dress to wear while serving up these cocktails!

We are so excited to welcome the weekend with the second installment of our Frocktails series, graciously hosted by Natalie of The Soho blog. In honor of Frocktober, Natalie will be sharing a cocktail recipe every week this month on our blog, inspired by one of our dresses. This week a rich autumn hue lead Natalie to whip up an indulgence in the Spanish style with sweet sangria, so read on for her creative inspiration and easy to follow recipe!

The drink that came to mind when I set eyes on this darling burgundy shift dress was sangria. I wanted to give it a seasonal twist, so I incorporated pears, pomegranate juice and best of all, sparkling apple cider. All those flavors and the wine-soaked fruit (my favorite part!) make for a pretty delicious drink.

    Ingredients:
1 (750 ml) bottle of red wine, Spanish or dry red wine
    1/4 cup brandy
1/4 cup orange-flavored liqueur, triple sec or Grand Marnier
    1/4 cup pomegranate juice
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    1 apple, diced
    1 pear, diced
    2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 (750 ml) bottle of sparkling apple cider, chilled

    Directions:
Cut apple and pear into cubes and toss with lemon juice. Combine all ingredients except the sparkling cider in a large container or pitcher. Cover and refrigerator for 2 hours or overnight if you prefer. When ready to serve, add the sparkling cider.

Let’s raise our glasses to another delicious frock inspired cocktail! We love seeing the creative libations that Natalie comes up with, and this sangria is no exception. She puts a fashionable spin on mixing up a drink, so don’t miss last week's Elderflower Gin Fizz cocktail and stay tuned for next Friday’s recipe.

Don a cute frock and grab your cocktail shaker, because Natalie of The SoHo blog is here to get your weekend off to a fizzy start! Natalie is a New Yorker with Georgia roots, a darling blogger who writes all about food, fashion, and living in New York City on her lifestyle blog, which contrary to what you may be thinking, stands not for the neighborhood SoHo but for Southern Hostess. We have been huge fans of the adorable Frocktails series on her blog where she finds inspiration from a dress to create a drink, so we couldn’t be more excited that this stylish gal with the cocktail know-how of a mixologist has graciously agreed to host this series on our blog in honor of our month-long celebration of Frocktober!

Natalie was inspired to start her fashion and libation inspiration series by none other than Lisa Turtle from Saved by the Bell who once extolled the merits of matching your drink to your outfit. Isn’t that a great way to order up a cocktail? And what could be better than slipping into a darling dress and relaxing on a Friday night with a drink in hand? So for every Friday this month Natalie will be sharing a frock inspired cocktail…that’s right, a frocktail.

Read on to see what Natalie has to say about the cocktail she mixed up for us this week, and how it was inspired by our Susie Polka Dot Dress!

To go along with this adorable black and white polka dot crossback dress, I shook up a variation of the Ramos gin fizz, adding a bit of elderflower liqueur to the mix. The cocktail is light and sophisticated with its delicate blend of floral and citrus flavors and results in the most surprising shade of white. Your arms will get a workout thanks to all the shaking required, but your reward is that lovely layer of frothiness that tops this tasty drink.

    Ingredients:
    1 1/2 oz. gin
1 oz. St. Germain or other elderflower liqueur
    1 tablespoon powdered sugar
    1/2 oz. fresh-squeezed lemon juice
1 egg white (or use egg white powder if you prefer)
    1 oz. heavy cream
    1 oz. club soda, chilled

    Directions:
Combine gin, elderflower liqueur, powdered sugar, lemon juice, egg white and heavy cream in a cocktail shaker without ice and shake for about one minute until combined. Hold cap tightly while shaking. Add ice to the shaker and shake for a couple of minutes or as long as you can take it. Strain drink into a highball glass, top with club soda and garnish with lemon.
