Long time Ruchette Mara of M Loves M never ceases to impress with her feminine and glamorous style. Mara's sophisticated style and genuine adoration for her life and those in it make it hard not to fall in love with this glamorous gal! Mara swiftly met our challenge to create 7 outfits using only 7 items and we love each and every ensemble she created for her feature. We love the idea that Mara can wear each of these stylish ensembles throughout her busy day. A fan of tailored silhouettes, a little sparkle and shine, and a bold lip no matter the occasion, her outfits are perfect for going wherever her day takes her.

    1. Pairing a breezy, patterned dress with a tailored vest makes this outfit perfect for starting the day by grabbing a latte from a local cafe and heading to work.

    2. After starting the morning in the office, this pink top and lacy skirt are perfect for heading to a lunch meeting. We love how Mara is able to keep her style professionally polished, but maintain her glam style!

    3. Layering a scalloped top with a cropped silhouette over a dress is a great way to get more mileage out of your wardrobe. We love the idea of Mara wearing this outfit while creating a blog post for M Loves M!

    4. This laid-back outfit is a closet essential. Mara pairs her vest and slightly cropped blouse with relaxed patterned pants for an outfit worthy of heading to happy hour with coworkers.

    5. This sky blue fit and flare dress is perfect for purchasing seasonal fruits and veggies or purchasing a new potted succulent while on a trip to the farmer's market! We absolutely love how easily this frock can be dressed up or down.

    6. Details like scallops or a lace overlay can add an instant dose of glamour to any ensemble. This pretty black and white outfit is perfect for meeting up with friends to celebrate a birthday!

    7. To end the day, a blousy top paired with patterned pants is a lovely outfit for a dessert and movie date! We're thinking frozen yogurt and a classic feature film like Roman Holiday

For all things Mara, be sure to visit her blog and shop her style feature! You can meet Mara at our 6th birthday celebration on July 12th at the 31 Bits headquarters. Get more details about the festivities and even RSVP on our Facebook event page!

Mara of M Loves M always wows us with her sophisticated style, almost too pretty to eat recipes, and voice filled with authenticity and graciousness. A true fashion lover, Mara shares her unique personal style in outfit posts and also works as a professional in the fashion industry. Residing in Los Angeles with her husband Matthew (the other "M" of M Loves M!) and her adorable pup Ginger, Mara's blog follows her daily life, musings, and adventures. We are so excited to have this savvy and stylish blogger as our Ruchette of the Month!

Describe your sense of style in 5 words or less.
    Feminine, classic and fun!

Who or what inspires your style?
I've always been inspired by the different eras. I love the feminine and classic looks from the 50s and the chic, mod looks from the 60s, and bohemian casual looks from the 70s. I'm also inspired by style icons like Audrey Hepburn and my present day girl crush, Olivia Palermo.

What's the most rewarding and most difficult part about running a lifestyle blog?
The most rewarding aspect of running a lifestyle blog is being able to have an amazing creative outlet. My blog has connected me with so many amazing people and friendships (and jobs!) have even come from it. The most challenging part is definitely the time management. Since I post every day, it takes away from my personal life. I would love to come home and make dinner, watch a movie or read a book, or go to bed early, but I'm usually up late on my computer. I'm either writing a post, answering emails, or editing photos. There are definitely certain nights when I just can't do it, but for the most part it's something I love and look forward to!

What is the best meal or dessert you've made lately?
I made the most amazing strawberry rhubarb pie for my Mom's birthday! It was so good and my first traditional pie. I was really worried it wouldn't turn out but it was a huge success and I can't wait to make more pies this summer.

    Quick fire questions:
    Phone, keys, wallet, and... lipstick!
Wine or cocktails? Wine! Red, please. :)
New York or Los Angeles? LA! duh! It's my hometown!
    Matthew is... my favorite!
Spring, summer, fall, or winter? Fall. A true fall though! None of this California "fall" business.

Last but not least, what's your favorite thing about being a Ruchette?
I love how beautiful Ruche is! I always come to the site and am inspired with the lookbooks and features. It makes me think creatively about what I'm wearing. I find beautiful pieces that won't break the bank, investment pieces that I'll have forever, home items that fit perfectly into my home, and even pet items for Ginger. I also love being a Ruchette because of the community! And of course I absolutely adore my Ruche Fam! ♥

    -- Mara, M Loves M

We're so happy Mara is our Ruchette of the Month! Mara's Ruchette status extends far beyond the month of July; she was our stylist for many years and will always be a part of our family. We love you Mara and we can't wait to see what you'll do next! You can even come meet Mara at our birthday event on July 12th! Join us for fun, sweets, and giveaways in honor of our 6th birthday! More details can be found on our Facebook event page!

It comes as no surprise -- there will always be a special place in our heart reserved for dresses and rompers. Not only are they comfortable, but they’re versatile, easy to style and can be worn all year round! These three gorgeous bloggers show us how they’ve made a Ruche frock the star of an ensemble this month.

Mara of M Loves M paired our chic, floral shift dress with the cutest Seychelles pumps for a sweet-yet-subtle Valentine’s Day look. Finishing the ensemble with a vibrant statement bag, retro sunglasses, and a trendy tassel neckline, Mara proves that mixing and matching your favorite accessories is simple when you have such a ladylike dress as your canvas!

Wearing this distressed chambray romper from our shop, Melina of The Caffeinated Closet keeps things minimal on a Sunday afternoon. We love how she layered this romper with tights and a neutral cardigan to fit the season, and pulled the look together with a structured bag and ankle boots. If you have a busy weekend ahead, emulate this look for the ideal blend of cute and casual.

We love how Ashlyn of Triple Thread highlighted this printed frock from our shop by pairing it with deep tones of black and rust. One can never go wrong by pairing a fit-and-flare dress with tights and boots! Ashlyn perfected her outfit with a vintage satchel, matching gloves, and a structured hat for a look that’s both rustic and comfortable.

We’re feeling inspired to change up our accessories to give our dresses and rompers a new twist! For more styled ensembles and fashion inspiration, take a look at our hand-picked outfits and previous Style File posts.

When the weather outside is frightful, we sometimes find ourselves feeling uninspired in our winter wear. Without the blossoming flowers of spring or the sunshine of summer, style inspiration can be hard to come by. Instead of dressing to match the dreary skies, some of our lovely Ruchettes invigorate us with their adorable ensembles perfect for cold weather! By integrating prints and metallics with winter staples like chunky scarves and tights, a few of our favorite bloggers have seasonal style perfected.

With hints of retro details like dainty gloves and a perfectly placed belt, Rebecca from The Clothes Horse looks like she stepped directly out of Mad Men with her vintage inspired ensemble. The pops of red throughout her neutral outfit and the floral detail on our BB Dakota dress add charm to her winter style!

Kaity from Brownie Diaries pairs her chambray button-up with our long plaid skirt creating a look that is both rustic and feminine. Plaid is a seasonal favorite, and we love she balances her denim top and boots with the flowing silhouette of this skirt perfect for long walks when there is a chill in the air.

Florals are perfect for brightening up a winter wardrobe, so needless to say we are swooning over this ensemble from Mara of M Loves M! This ensemble is perfect for lunch at a cafe with friends or a day date! Our chunky knit scarf compliments the pretty hues in her outfit and will keep her warm when there is a chill in the air!

Sparkle and shine are essentials for any holiday wardrobe! Ellie of Ellie Joy pairs our emerald hued blazer with our bronze sequin pants and a statement necklace to create an ensemble worthy of any seasonal soiree! Her neutral accessories balance the glitz and glamour in her festive outfit.

Personal style is something that is always evolving and changing. The outerwear, cardigans, and boots you lived in last season may not inspire you like they did in the past. Instead of feeling stuck, go ahead and experiment with the pieces in your wardrobe! This week's style files is a delightful array of some of our favorite Ruchette's displaying their personal style. From rustic allure to polished grace, each of the ladies featured portrays their own unique point of view when it comes to fashion.

Bonnie of Small Town Fashionista looks ready for adventure in our Aztec Maxi Dress and Cocoon Cardigan! The cozy knit of the cardigan and feminine silhouette of the maxi dress creates a look that evokes ease and playfulness. Our rodeo boots, earrings, and Ruche Azurite Cavern Ring are the lovely finishing accessories for this charmingly rustic look.

Melina from The Caffeinated Closet looks like a classic Ruchette in her striped top, beautiful turquoise statement necklace, and belted skirt. Her boots add the perfect autumnal touch to her adorable ensemble. The colorful sunset and urban rooftop provide the perfect backdrop for this feminine outfit!

Mixing prints is never easy, but Mara has mastered the feat! Keeping both patterns in the same black and white color family, she effortless pairs our checkered skirt with a striped blouse. Her red lips and sophisticated shoes complement this black and white ensemble perfectly!

Signe of Singeroo looks like she stepped out of our One Fine Day lookbook! Our checkered vest incorporates a contemporary style with a fun, mod geometric print. We love how the warm fall hues brighten up the more neutral palette of her outfit!

Rebecca from The Clothes Horse adds utilitarian edge to her light and dainty frocks with our military-inspired Tulle Jacket. While feminizing this edgy coat can be difficult, once you visit our tips on styling this cargo coat it will become a wardrobe staple that can be worn on chilly winter days and cool summer nights!
Whether you're looking at styles from the past or creating a more contemporary look, the colder seasons are the perfect time to experiment! Mixing patterns, layering and playing with shapes and silhouettes are the methods through which you can discover and expand your ever evolving personal style.

With summer slowly coming to a gentle close, a new season of colorful leaves and autumnal breeze rings near. To transition from your summer wardrobe to appropriate fall ensembles, these radiant Ruchettes share with us their choice transitional trend--prints!

Mara of M Loves M strides with sophistication in our black and white tribal print dress. The bold pattern of this ensemble is beautifully balanced by a subtle black and white color palette. If you are hesitant to wear a bold printed piece, try a black and white option to tone down the pattern.

Joanna of Moda Mama looks luscious in our perfectly printed floral dress. The subtle pattern against the blue fabric gives her ensemble character without being too overpowered with print. Playing with prints in your wardrobe does not have to mean big and bold patterns, small and subtle prints can add just the right touch to any outfit!

Melanie of Born Lippy gorgeously frolics in our floral maxi skirt which she pairs with a tucked in striped blouse. Don't be too quick to store away your summer maxi skirts as they are the perfect summer-to-autumn transitioning item! As the weather gets colder, simply slip on a cozy sweater and statement necklace and your ready to fall into fall!

Kelly of Wears Kelly plays up the prints by stylishly sporting our striped dress. This black and white ensemble is the perfect printed piece to transition into a fall wardrobe. Stripes are a timeless pattern and will always look chic through any season. We love how she adds a pop of color against the black and white scheme with a bright turquoise necklace!

Caitlin of Voguish At Best beautifully complements her printed ensembles with our statement necklaces--the perfect pairing for a transitioning wardrobe! Statement necklaces give a bold pop to any outfit and can be worn casually with a daytime outfit or playfully dress up any night time ensemble.

Jessica of Midwest Muse looks adorably adorned in our pink striped dress (similar style here), which she sneakily borrowed from Ashley, our Ruchette Of The Month! Stripes are a classic staple that every Ruchette should have in her closet for every season! Because of its clean lines and simple pattern, this print can easily be worn in bright colors.

As one stylish season comes to a quiet close, another looms on the horizon. With the help of these perfect patterns and prints, you can gracefully transition from summer-filled ensembles to autumn-inspired outfits!

Summer love has swept us off our feet; we’re simply smitten with eclectic prints! Not only do prints make wonderful transitional pieces from summer to fall, they are such a fun way to shake up an everyday ensemble, incorporate a little retro-chic into any outfit, and can be mixed with simple basics, summer brights, and earthy neutrals for an instant wardrobe refresh. Eclectic prints inspire us to dress with more creativity and whimsy, but in case you are wondering just how to wear them, we rounded up looks from some of our favorite bloggers who put together outfits that are just bursting with print-spiration!

Our stylist Mara, of M Loves M, shows us two different ways to wear prints this summer. In her first chic ensemble she looks ready for lunch meetings and after-work cocktails with the girls! We love how her bright blue top and a big statement necklace pair with paisley print cropped pants for a pulled together look. Her neutral accessories are the perfect counterpoint to colorful pieces, and her polished topknot is perfect hairstyle choice!

Mara’s second outfit proves that all you need for a summery, resort-ready look is a shift dress in an eclectic print and a great pair of wedges! Note: don’t be afraid to accessorize prints. We adore the pretty light blue statement necklace and metallic wedges Mara chose to complement the bold print of her dress.

Kendi of Kendi Everyday looks perfectly put together in a work-appropriate ensemble with plenty of personality! We love how she adds a big splash of color to her eclectic print pants with bright orange wedges and a neon-hued structured bag, while keeping the top simple with an elegant white peplum. Style tip: pulling out a color from the print for accessory inspiration the way Kendi did with her bag and shoes creates a great visual link for a polished ensemble!

Bee of Atlantic Pacific looks glamorous as ever! A scarf print can overwhelm an outfit, but Bee thoughtfully pairs her blouse with white cropped pants and well-coordinated accessories. This is a great example of how to mix an eclectic print with neutrals and metallics for easy sophistication!

Want to add a burst of creativity to your wardrobe? Shop our eclectic prints to dress with a bit of whimsy and let your inner artist come out to play!

We are always looking for new ways to liven up our outfits and our most recent favorite style is print mixing! Wondering how to mix prints? Here are our rules:

    1. Limit your outfits to two prints.
    2. Choose prints with a common color or pair prints with an identical color scheme.
    3. Treat polka dots and stripes like neutrals. They go with anything!
    4. Mix tighter patterns with more open patterns.
    5. Add minimal accessories.

Scroll down to see how a few of our favorite bloggers pair their prints!

Julia wears polka dots as her neutral piece, and pairs the blue from her pants with the blue print on her top. The common color makes the outfit cohesive!

We've always adored how Kendi wears stripes and this outfit is another to add to the list. With minimal accessories, Kendi wears her stripes as a neutral and pulls a common color from both prints too.

Want to mix prints like Rachel? She pairs two prints with an identical color scheme for an effortlessly chic outfit.

Pair prints like our stylist, Mara! She selected a striped blouse as her neutral piece and paired a colorful floral blazer with it. She also kept in mind rule #4, and paired a tighter pattern (thin stripes) with a more open pattern (bold florals).

While two completely different prints can clash, Emily manages to look fashionable! With stripes as a neutral pattern, Emily chose a print with common colors and limited her accessories too.

Add a few daring looks to your wardrobe with our collection of prints. With these rules and examples in mind, you'll be mixing prints like a stylist in no time!

We love the darling monochromatic trend that has sprouted up this spring, especially when we find that a few of our favorite bloggers have joined in on the fun.

Bee, From Atlantic Pacific shows off her monochromatic style in lovely hues of mint and pink. We adore the way she paired her sweet dresses with a similar-toned jacket and sophisticated accessories to finish the look.

Our stylist, Mara, from M Loves M looks springtime fresh in head to toe blue and mint. We love how she shows us that the monochromatic trend can be both casual and formal with her differing ensembles for day and night.

Shop our monochromatic looks to attain this spring style too!

Our own stylist Mara, from M Loves M was lucky enough to wear her floral blazer with bare legs and a skirt during last week's heatwave in LA.

Joannna, from ModaMama layered her lace dress with a pop of color and paired her outfit with tights, socks and boots to keep warm in the Canadian snow!

Looking chic as usual, Rebecca from The Clothes Horse had to keep warm in the snow too by pairing tights and a scarf with her dress!  She also kept her toes warm by wearing our waterproof Khombu boots.
