There is only one thing we love more than our winter lookbook, Away We Go, and that is this dreamy illustration by Shy Davis of Eternal Tresor! Shy fell in love with Away We Go, and used the images of glamorous outfits, sparkling accessories, and cute dresses as inspiration for this darling drawing of a Ruchette outfit! We adore how Shy captured the intricate details of our Lady in Waiting Red Coat and floral lace of our Evening With You Clutch. Even our Rita Plaid Dress is replicated in perfect detail. We're using this fashion illustration as inspiration for all of our holiday attire!

We feel so fortunate to have crossed paths with the talented Elena Fay. Her self-taught talent for creating fashion illustrations with sophistication and a touch of whimsy made us fall in love. From watercolor macarons to incredible videos of Elena's artistic process, Elena's love for creativity and fashion made her the perfect artist to create illustrations for our Business Casual Dress Code Guide! Currently residing in Washington, D.C., Elena's passion for travel comes through in both her style and illustrations, and we loved seeing her make our favorite business casual styles into works of art. We were lucky enough to sit down with Elena and learn more about her and her talents!

When did you first discover your passion for art?
I feel that I've been an artist for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a small country town in Russia and couldn't even imagine that someday my passion for art can become my career.

In 5 words or less, how do you describe your artistic aesthetic?
    Splash of color, beauty, happiness.

Would you use the same words to describe your sense of fashion?
Absolutely! Lately I've been really drawn to bright colors and it shows not only in my sketches but also in my closet.

What's currently on your Ruche wishlist?
Georgia Floral Dress by Queen of Heartz is my absolute favorite.

What do you love most about running your own Etsy shop?
Etsy is a great place for small businesses like my shop. Not only listing and promoting products on Etsy is very simple but also finding other creative outlets is very inspiring.

Just to get to know you a little more, here's a round of quick fire questions!
Phone, keys, wallet, and... a pocket sketchbook
Spring, summer, fall, or winter? Spring
Neutral or bold nail polish? Bold
Chocolate cake or apple pie? Chocolate cake

Don't forget to see Elena's business casual illustrations in our Business Casual Dress Code Guide and for more of Elena's fashionable creations, visit her Instagram, Facebook, and blog

We are swooning over the feminine and detailed creations found in Etsy shop Lucile's Kitchen! Her paintings range from gorgeous prints of recipes and quotes to beautiful renderings of Parisian iconography. She perfectly captures the variety of marcarons offered at Laduree (our favorite is their rose flavor!) and the floral notes found in french perfume!

Since a very young age, Lucile has had a passion for creating art through various mediums including calligraphy and screenprinting. Lucile's love for cooking and all things naturally beautiful shines through in her charming artwork.

The creations found in Lucile's Kitchen have us dreaming of days spent wandering the streets of Paris, shopping at farmers markets, and, of course, eating more macarons in one sitting than one really should. Until we can enjoy a French vacation, we will have to settle for gazing at Lucile's stunning designs!

Our friend Justina Blakeney is not only an amazing mother, blogger, and designer, but she has an incredible eye for art. Using only florals and foliage, Justina has crafted beautiful and abstract faces; giving new life and potential to the blossoms we see in our front yards and walkways each day. Her intricately designed faces are stunning, and she has challenged others to create their own works of art using flowers and leaves with hashtag #facethefoliage found on her blog and Instagram where she features her favorite creations. We love this sustainable and (mostly) mess-free way to create unique works of art!

What do you think of Justina's floral faces? Will you be participating in the #FaceTheFoliage challenge? We would love to see your creations!

We are touched by many people in our lives. Some of these people are those closest to us, who encourage us and love us each and every day, but some inspire us through their words and the incredible work they do. The brilliant Maya Angelou was one of the individuals that provided encouragement through the words found in her countless essays, poems and in the way she challenged readers to reflect on their own lives. She was not afraid to critique the world around her, and also unafraid to celebrate and appreciate its beauty, which is why her incredible mind and spirit will never be forgotten.

Maya Angelou's courage to share her experiences through works like I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings and her lyrical prose remain staples in libraries and home bookshelves everywhere. Her legacy reflects her bravery and continuous momentum for good, and we feel so fortunate to have been touched by Dr. Maya Angelou.

As lovers of cute animals and flora alike, it's no wonder that we're smitten with the imaginative designs of Katie Vernon. Based in Indiana, this illustrator manages to capture adorable and majestic qualities in the same work of art. We love Katie's calculated use of color and attention to detail, and think her designs would add a magical touch to any room in an office or home.

If you're as enchanted by these whimsical prints as we are, support Katie by purchasing one in her Etsy shop, Chipmunk Cheeks. You can also check out her other creative designs in her second store!

If you’re a lover of inspiring quotes and witty sayings, you’ll certainly fall in love with artist Emily McDowell’s hand-lettered cards and illustrations!  We’ve featured work from this Southern Californian artist before as a part of our Sunday quote series, and can be found browsing her Etsy store in search of the cutest birthday and holiday cards. This talented gal recently sent us a hand-drawn print of our motto, "Live Beautifully," which we can't wait to display in the office for daily motivation!

If you’re looking for a fun gift or want to decorate your space, take a break to browse through Emily’s shop and giggle at her spot-on cultural commentary. You're sure to love her just as much as we do!

Sometimes all it takes is a little art and a sense of humor to turn the day around. That's one of many reasons why we've been long-time fans of Canadian artist, Marc Johns. His quirky, captioned illustrations bridge the gap between clever and cute, reminding us to take the everyday ups and downs a little less seriously.

In addition to his successful website (humorously titled "Serious Drawings") and personal shop, Marc Johns has published two books of his art, and many of his drawings have appeared in magazine editorials and inspirational books. To learn more about his techniques and the tools he uses, take a look at his interview with Workspiration!

We hope that Marc John's art will motivate you to create in a way that speaks to you and helps you navigate the world around you. To live beautifully is to stay true to you!
